Stretch Out Into Today – Time Is On Our Side

ImageJesus threw Himself into the moment and sanctified time for us now by flowing in the Spirit. Our time on earth is holy, precious and filled with purpose. Do you see your time this way? I will admit that I didn’t always see it this way.

In my life, I felt like time passed me by. I felt pulled back or paralyzed, often lost in my own life, without direction. Now, I wake up and do everything for the glory of the Lord – no matter how big or small. Time is on my side and infused with the glory of eternity. I access my time by faith and obediently walk it out. I throw myself into the moments and in doing that the rush of freedom in Christ overtakes me and eternity beckons me to open my eyes to see, to stretch out into today. I walk by faith, not by sight.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while WE DO NOT LOOK AT THE THINGS WHICH ARE SEEN, BUT AT THE THINGS WHICH ARE NOT SEEN. For the things, which are, seen are temporary, but the things, which are not seen, are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

There is no time like the present so stretch out into today. With each passing moment, Jesus attuned His ear to heaven to hear the Father and to see what He was doing. He seized the moments and moved in eternity’s call – stopping for the woman at the well, healing the blind, raising the dead……… Each moment in time presented opportunities for Him when He captured them in faith.

He surrendered His life in time so that time would have no control over our lives. We live in time as eternal spiritual beings. Each moment I have is infused with eternity when I choose to believe and see with the eyes of faith.

Francis Chan QuoteA fear of time breeds anxiety and worry. Time tries to capture us in chaos and uncertainty unless we know, truly know that Jesus opened the door of heaven for us and invited us to live in time, within the boundless beauty of eternal glory. NOW.

So rather than wait, ponder, hesitate, procrastinate…stretch out into today. We have all we need in Christ to move in Holy Spirit to do what He’s called us to do.

Time levels itself out as we stretch out in faith. As we walk forward in faith, time presents itself in various ways.

There is the immediate in which we grasp heaven’s direction now. Moments in time overwhelm us with His beauty and glory. What was is gone and something new is here, breakthrough now.

There is that which is right ahead. We walk towards it as faith lays the path but we have to start now or we won’t get there. We see in the Spirit and walk to the sounds of a different drummer.

There is the future on the horizon. We glance at it, look at it and believe it but always remember it is the now moments in time that take us there. So time presents itself NOW and asks us the question, “What are you going to do with TODAY?”

Time is on my side and God asks me what I am going to do with it – each and every day. (Ephesians. 2:6 and Colossians 3:1)

So go ahead – dream, imagine, live it out in Holy Spirit.

Wisdom draws the boundary lines of what to do, where to go, what to believe for. Without Wisdom, we can easily get distracted and be drawn into places that are outside our heaven ordained purpose.

Jesus hems us in on all sides as Wisdom teaches us how to navigate time within wide-open place of exploration and adventure in Christ.

Wisdom walks with us, sets the pace and directs our steps in a glorious adventure. Sometimes we run, sometimes we walk, and sometimes we just stroll along with Him. Time is on our side.

Stretch out into TODAY! Each day has meaning and value…don’t lose track of the moments. In the moments there are people waiting to be healed, looking for a prophetic word from you. In the moments there are doors waiting for you to open in visions, revelation and eternal treasures in Christ. Stretch out into TODAY!

It’s Time To Choose

Heart on timeline

When I hear a prophetic word that confirms what I am also hearing in my spirit, I meditate on it for a few days. I go over it a little at a time.  Holy Spirit speaks to me about how it applies to my life.

I stood at this intersection (referred to in this word)  for the past few months, paralyzing my forward movement. It suddenly dawned on me that God called me to trust Him in greater ways, moving in radical faith through obedience to His directions.

This word that I share with you today brought life into my spirit, freeing me from confusion and worry about our next move. I pray it also blesses you.

It’s Time To Choose
Garris Elkins

You are standing at an intersection trying to choose which way to go. You have reduced your life down to this single decision. It has stalled your forward progress. The stalling reveals a flaw in your understanding of God’s heart. This is not a decision about you following Jesus. You have already made that decision. You are on His right path. This is a lesser decision you should not give equal importance to like the decision you made to follow Jesus.

This decision is intended to be a learning experience. You are about to learn something profound about God’s heart for you. God is not nervous about the choice you will eventually make. He wants to use that decision to draw our your untapped courage and deepen your trust in Him.

As this word came to me, the Lord took me higher like I was gaining altitude in a helicopter. I flew over the place of your decision. What you now stand it does look like a fork in the road with two distinctly different paths. From Heaven’s perspective it looks very different. Viewing from above, I was able to see off in the distance. In the future these two paths actually come together to form a single path. No matter which way you go with this choice, God will bring it all back together again. Both decisions have His goodness waiting for you. God wants to give you the desires of your heart. That will only happen if you first trust His heart. Regarding which path to take, God said, “Choose one. I will make it work”

Moving in Truth or Anchored in Opinion

TruthWe can be enslaved by opinion or moved by truth. Opinion shifts and changes hourly or even by the minute, depending on how often we open up social media or glance at the news. What’s out there, perceived as truth, is often revealed to be opinion, coated in a fine layer of distortion back up by clouded facts.

Where do we find truth? Unshakeable yet moving. Firm yet fluid. Is that possible? Doesn’t’ that seem to be somewhat of a paradox? Can you have both or is truth stoic and immoveable?

Truth is on the move! Truth calls out to each of us to move along with Him and invade territory captured by lies and distortion. Can you see it? Chaos abounds all around. We question everything and hold onto nothing, shifting our beliefs with whatever is trending or whoever seems to make a case we can hold onto. I believe that we are desperate for truth but many don’t know where to find it. They turn to every conceivable thing to alleviate their fears or calm their nerves.

All along truth calls to us within the person of Christ Jesus. Who is He? A liar? A lunatic? OR is He really who He says He is? I believe He’s truth. That forms the basis of my writing. I point the way and you choose to receive and believe or keep searching. Trust me. I kept searching and searching for many years, looking for rest and peace yet rejecting the One who offered it me. Why? He loves me.

Way Truth LifeJesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’ John 14:6

Jesus and the Father are one and He longs to reveal the Father to us. He cries out, “I am the way”. He speaks unashamed and without pretense. He has the audacity to say it, because it is true. I live, move and have my being in that reality. Truth moves and I move in sync with Him.

It’s not time to batten down the hatches or hide in our personal Christian fortresses, complete with lights, camera and action on a weekly basis. Don’t hide behind closed doors afraid of the world and its opinions of what a Christian looks like, sounds like or acts like. Get out there and be truth in a world of chaos. I don’t hide waiting for the Apocalypse. Where did the apostles ever do that?

Truth shapes my life in courage. I rise and stand tall in the reality of Jesus Christ. He moves – revealing, expanding and exploding on the scene of my life to show me who He is and who the Father is. This is a grand exciting journey, moving parallel to the fear in the world but destined to overtake the darkness with the light of Christ within me.

What is truth? Let me meditate on this today according to Scripture. More in the next blog.

As I said before, please join me on this journey as I write. I am not going to settle things in one blog post but they will form a journey into the heart of Jesus Christ, the Father and Holy Spirit.

Truth Staggers Down The Street

Truth is lost in the midst of cultural noise and political correctness. Words blast their way into the atmosphere on a daily basis. They continually try to change our minds and destroy our thought processes from seeking what is real, what is true. Words are a vehicle by which truth is moved along so if you distort words, trying to change their meaning from what is originally intended, it is easier to control people through deception, dilution and distortion.

Words Words WordsThis is not a new thing. If fact it is an old thing and I only need look at a verse in the OT to speak truth into this very problem.

Justice is beaten back, Righteousness is banished to the sidelines, Truth staggers down the street, Honesty is nowhere to be found. (Isaiah 59:14 Message)

Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands afar off; For truth is fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter. (Isaiah 59:14 NKJVS)

There is an attack on truth through the use of words that seem to be ever changing, evolving to bolster man’s political agenda or partisan way of life. Look around if you can and find truth in the midst of chaos. It is lost amidst word mixtures and word distortions.

The only way to navigate the treacherous waters ahead is through the only truth that exists to be found. Christ Jesus.

Jesus said to him, “ I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6 NKJV)

Jesus said, “I am the Road, also the Truth, also the Life. No one gets to the Father apart from me. (John 14:6 Message)

Truth in Christ is true in any matter, under all circumstances in perfect reality. If one does not know Christ, one cannot comprehend truth. Truth in Christ in me is a life renewed with an excellent mind, able to perceive truth in the midst of deception. I am in union with Christ Jesus through the Holy Spirit and in my life there is a perfect expression of Truth as I live, move and have my being in Him.

Many see Jesus as a lunatic for saying this pretentious statement in John 14:6. Listen to what C.S. Lewis says below.

“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.” C.S. Lewis – Mere Christianity.

Truth Will Set You FreeA battle rages for truth. People desperately desire truth. Truth is in Christ. Truth is Christ Jesus. Truth is found in Christ and the outflow of His teachings, His person, and His oneness in the Father. That forms the simplicity of my life, the way this blog will flow and the prophetic nature of speaking forth hope into a chaotic future that exists in the world apart from Christ.

Prophetically speaking I would say that confusion rules the atmosphere in this present day. Yet that is not a reality for those hidden in Christ Jesus. We are able to see and to hear beyond what is being shown us and far beyond what is being said. We hear truth beyond words that seem to bolster political agendas or foster partisan belief. There is a sound behind the sound when one is discerning to truly hear. God will reveal His heart to us and through us in Christ.

Look no further than the simplicity that is found in Christ for the coming days will toss us back and forth on the winds of change if we are not anchored in the truth of the divine words of Scripture. Make no mistake, we desire to see hope restored and peace reign in our midst but this is an impossibility apart from Christ ruling and reigning in the power of His kingdom that dwells first in the heart of His people and flows out in its necessary power…..now and in the days ahead.

Hope is restored. Peace is maintained. Lives are lived contrary to the prevailing atmosphere of humanistic logic and wisdom. How can one find this? How can one live in direct opposition to fear, distress, and hopelessness? In Christ. Rise up and live above in heavenly places, where we are seated in Christ Jesus.

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. (Colossians 3:1-4 NKJVS)

This is a simple way to start the New Year prophetically speaking. We must disregard the extraneous things pulling on our lives on a daily basis.  They only seek to take us into a reality bound by fear and distress. There is a better way, a more excellent way and those who seek Him will find Him. The promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus. He never leaves us or forsakes us.

Start today. Spend time alone with the Lord. Learn to hear His voice and respond to His overtures of love to you. In this time set apart we will develop a hearing ear and discerning eyes to follow Him in the midst of the coming storms. We will walk in peace and hope and love despite anything that tries to come against us, uproot us or destroy us.

O Lord, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. 3 You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways.7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 13For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalms 139:1-3, 7, 13-14, 23-24 NKJVS)
